Mounties bust dealers who preyed on kids

Three men, none from Revelstoke, have been arrested and charged with possession and trafficking at what local Mounties say was a drug house that specialized in selling dope to high school students.

“These types of drug dealers are the worst of the worst, the ones who are supplying kids with drugs,” Cpl. Rod Wiebe  said in a statement. “Hopefully this will send a message to all the dealers in town, it is only a matter of time before we will arrive at your door.”

Wiebe said police executed a search warrant on a trailer in the small trailer court at 606 Edward Street on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Two of the men were arrested at the scene without incident. A third was arrested a short time later in a vehicle away from the scene. The subsequent search of the residence resulted in ther discovery and seizure of  just over 90 grams of marijuana, over 160 capsules and in excess of 28 grams of a white powder, both believed to be ecstasy.

A 28-year-old from Cochrane, Alta., a 26-year-old from Edmonton and a 27-year-old man from Hamilton, Ont., are to appear in Revelstoke Provincial Court in the spring, Wiebe said.

He said they did not appear to have any direct links to organized criminal gangs.
