The music was great but the Street Party organized by the Chamber of Commerce for the World Freeskiing Tour needed a lot more party-goers than the sparse crowd it did attract Saturday evening.
Al Laidlaw and Brandon Haney, better known as The Rev, played marvelously for a crowd at Grizzly Plaza that never seemed to grow beyond about 50.
There were problems. Guests at Nelsen Lodge up at Revelstoke Mountain Resort waited for more than an hour for a shuttle that didn’t seem to materialize and some managed to make it downtown only hitching a ride with a staff member and many local resident seemed unaware that a street party had been planned.
Still and all, the music was great and if you were hungry you could grab a fantastic rib-eye steak sandwich or a burger from Dale Caverly at Scratch.
