The Revelstoke Schools Project has moved a significant step forward with the selection of the preferred design-build team, School Board Chairman Alan Chell announced today.
The design-build team consists of a building contractor, architect, consulting engineers and major trades that propose to work together to design and construct the new elementary school and the replacement secondary school on the existing secondary school site.
“The School District received exceptional submissions from the three teams invited to respond to the Request for Proposals. The Project Team assessed each proposal based on the evaluation criteria set out in the RFP, including functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, and life cycle cost,” Chell in a statement.
The Project Team will now enter into negotiations with the preferred design-build team. It is anticipated that the design-build contract will be signed in late February 2010. An open house will be held in early March to present the plans for the schools. Construction activity is expected to commence in April.
