Mr. Albert Joseph Zimmerman passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 at the age of 83 years.  Albert has requested there be a private family service.  He will be laid to rest beside his parents in Nelson, B.C.

Albert was born in Czechoslovakia on May 12, 1926.  He came to Canada with his family in the fall of 1926.  Albert lived in North Star, Alberta until 1944, and then he joined the army and served two years.  He came to B.C. in 1946 where he worked in the bush and at sawmills until 1963.  He then worked in construction and drove truck and was a foreman for two years on the Revelstoke Dam.  Albert moved to Revelstoke in 1977 where he remained until his passing.  He will forever be known as “The Best Fisherman in Revelstoke” as is evidenced by the 25 lb., 8 oz. fish that Albert is holding in the photograph.

Albert was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Augustina Zimmerman, his brother John and his sister Eleanor.  He is survived by his two children: Kip Zimmerman and Karen Hill; two grandchildren Tyler and Jenna and his brother Tony Zimmerman.

Cremation arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
