It’s New Year’s Eve. Please drink responsibly

It’s New Year’s Eve and, of course, that means there will be parties galore around town. That’s fine, says RCMP Staff Sgt. Jacquie Olsen, as long as people drink responsibly and don’t drive if they have over-indulged.

“People need to plan ahead,” she said Thursday. “Be cautious, watch out for each other and please don’t drive if you have been drinking.”

If you’re bound for a party and plan on imbibing take a taxi home or let a non-drinker do the driving.

This evening’s road conditions are also not the best so, if you are driving, be extra cautious.
