Affordable Art Fair has something for everyone

By David F. Rooney

Looking for something unique? Something visually appealing and perhaps even practical, too? Then perhaps you should visit the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre before Dec. 20 and see if any of the paintings, ceramics, photographs or pieces of fabric art on offer are just what you need.

The fair, which opened on Friday, runs until dec. 20 and The Centre is open daily from 1 until 5 until then to accommodate people looking for something truly unique. And local, too!

While there are some works on offer from regular exhibitors who happen to live elsewhere in BC and Alberta, the majority of the art for sale was produced in Revelstoke by local artists.

You should take advantage of this opportunity to purchase works of art that truly are affordable. In the meantime, here are three images from the opening on Friday evening:

Pat Anderson (left) whispers to fellow artist Sandra Flood as Carol Palladino looks on at the Affordable Art Fair. Not only did Anderson and Flood have paintings and ceramics on offer, their festive head gear singles them out as official exibitors at the show. As for Palladino, she was no doubt shopping for the perfect gift for someone. David F. Rooney photo
