Revelstoke Mountain Resort is offering a “sneak-peek opening weekend” next Saturday and Sunday.
“We made the decision to get you out on the mountain sooner than scheduled after receiving more than 100 cm (39.5 inches) of snow this month,” Steve Parsons, RMR’s director of mountain operations, said in a statement. “The base at our weather plot at 1,950 metres (6,398 feet) is now over a metre deep, and coverage looks great on the upper mountain.”
The statement said the resort would be running the Revelation Gondola and the Stoke Chair on Nov. 28 and 29. The resort will then be closed until Dec. 4 when operations will resume at full capacity. Lift tickets for the sneak peek will be $50 for adults, $38 for youth/students/seniors and $18 for children. The lifts will be spinning from 8:30 am to 3 pm all weekend. Skier Services will be open from 7:30 am until 4 pm on Saturday and from 8 am until 4 pm on Sunday.
The new Mackenzie Outpost, operated by Great White North, will be open at the top of the Revelation Gondola. The Outpost will offer coffee and on-the-go eats like sandwiches on artisan bread, flat bread pizza and Kelly’s homemade goodies and jerky. The Mid-Mountain Lodge will also be open, serving up a limited menu on opening weekend including build-your-own pasta, chili in a bread bowl, burgers and homemade soups.
Season passes are available at the Presentation Centre at 122 Mackenzie Ave. on Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm and Friday from 9 am to 10 pm.
