It would appear that Norm Macdonald has toed the party line again of Carol James, leader of the NDP in BC.
James had decided to play partisan politics in slamming the efforts of so many people working to make transit a reality in the Interior of British Columbia.
It would appear that Macdonald, in his interest in partisan politics, has forgotten the transit systems in his own home town of Golden and the new and improving transit system in the Radium-Inveremre-Canal Flats areas of the East Kootenays. He has also forgotten the long-operating systems in the Cranbrook area as well as the West Kootenays.
Convenient is it not?
Many people in all of these areas have been working long and hard for over 1 1/2 years in Radium-Invermere to bring transit to this area. BC Liberals, NDP folks, independents (politically), city and village councilors and ordinary citizens have put a lot of time and effort into helping make a transit system work for our areas. This is a great example of people working together to help many other communities. This seems to be something that is completely outside of Norm’s political agenda. We are all trying to make things work through our different venues for every one.
Norm’s need to denigrate the efforts of these people in their efforts to help others, through partisan self-serving politics, is a very disappointing use of the political system.
