Hockeyville campaign goes social

The Revelstoke Hockeyville 2010 campaign has begun using so-called social media to communicate with its supporters.

“The goal of Revelstoke Hockeyville 2010 is to get the community of Revelstoke excited about our city,” says organizer Gary McLaughlin.  “To have the opportunity to bring Revelstoke together behind such a positive project and involve all walks of life makes it fun and unique.  Our Facebook group, Revelstoke Hockeyville 2010, and our Twitter page, www.twitter.com/revyhockeyville will allow the committee to directly connect with the community and allow them a seat at the table.  They’ve already been challenged to come up with a slogan to be used as a central theme to our bid.”

McLaughlin said the Revelstoke Hockeyville 2010 Facebook page has ballooned to 160 members and many, many more are expected to join as the campaign takes a coherent form.
