The Revelstoke Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) will be host to two accomplished BC authors, both sharing their thoughts and books on very divergent topics.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, Anne Edwards will present a talk and book signing based on the recent release of her book Seeking Balance: Conversations with BC Women in Politics. Two weeks later on Wednesday, Nov. 4, Chris Czajkowski will do a slideshow and lecture based on her book A Mountain Year, where she captures images and diary entries from her time in the Central Coast Mountains.
“These authors are both strong BC women sharing very different experiences,” says Revelstoke Librarian Joan Holzer. “Anne interviewed some of our province’s most public figures, such as Grace McCarthy and Joy MacPhail. On the other hand, Chris shares private thoughts and paintings inspired by BC’s natural beauty.”
Both events are at 7 pm and free to the public. Anne Edwards’ presentation is co-hosted by the publisher of Seeking Balance, Caitlin Press, and Chris Czajkowski’s talk is co-hosted by Harbour Press.
Anne Edwards has worked as a journalist in radio, television and newspapers and as a freelance writer for various magazines. She instructed and managed at the College of the Rockies for a decade and represented Kootenay constituency for 10 years as MLA. Edwards retired from politics and the working world in 1996, and now lives in Moyie, BC.
Chris Czajkowski moved into BC’s Central Coast Mountains in 1988 to build a homestead, a business, and a life. A Mountain Year is her illustrated journal describing the splendour of seasonal transformation in BC’s high-altitude wilderness.
