Arrow Heights Elementary joins national Waste Reduction Week efforts

Students and teachers at Arrow Heights Elementary are vowing to generate the least amount of litter from their lunch boxes as part of Waste Reduction Week in Canada, which runs from Oct. 19 until Oct. 25.

It may be a tiny little step but it could have big consequences if it gets children to continue thinking about ways to reduce the amount of waste they and their families produce all the time. The event at AHE is one of 117 happening across British Columbia and 320 across the country.

Waste Reduction Week aims to inform and engage Canadians about the environmental and social ramifications of wasteful practices. It strives to educate, engage and empower Canadians to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.
