Riding’s BC Liberals urge people to speak out on the budget

If you have something you’d like to say to government about the budget, here is your chance, says David Pacey, president of the BC Liberal Constituency Association for Columbia River-Revelstoke .

“We all have issues with government actions both good and bad, but if we don’t talk to the poo-bahs directly, our views and feelings cannot be taken into account,” Pacey said in an e-mail this week.

He urged people living in the constituency to take five minutes to fill out this survey on the BC Legislature’s website, www.leg.bc.ca/budgetconsultations/survey.asp and/or register their opinions at public hearings on the provincial budget that are being held next month. The hearings are in:

  • Cranbrook             Friday, Oct. 9 — 9 AM – 1 PM, location TBA
  • Kamloops            Thursday, Oct. 15 — 9 AM – 1 PM, location TBA
  • Kelowna              Thursday, Oct. 15 — 9 AM – 1 PM, location TBA

He said people wishing to register for the hearings must contact the Office of the Clerk of Committees toll-free by phone at 1-877-428-8337 or by e-mail at FinanceCommittee@leg.bc.ca. You can make a Written Submission or a Video or Audio Submission

“This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in democracy and let Victoria know exactly what is of concern to you right now and in relation to taxes, HST, funding or whatever,” Pacey said.
