The New Moon on Mackenzie festival might be for humans, but one of its events really is Just 4 Dogs.

Organizer Kathryn Horkley says the event, which will be held on the old King Eddy Hotel site behind City Hall, will certainly put dogs and dog owners in touch with the amazing array of services and businesses that cater to our canine friends.

“We have the great people from Animal House, Agility Dogs, the Canadian Search and Disaster Dogs Association, dog groomers — all kinds of vendors,” she said, adding that she and her husband, Colin, will demonstrate their Pawtrekker Dog Scooters, too.

“We are also accepting donations to the Food Bank for dogs. Patti Larson and I have spoken about this as there are many homeless people in Revelstoke that have dogs and the Food Bank is unable to cater for them.“

Horkley said dog lovers and owners should bring their furry friends down to the event location starting at 10 a.m. It runs all day and should certainly prove to be an interesting addition to the New Moon festival.
