Local Sears store expands to new digs

The local Sears store has expanded to new and much more spacious digs in the old True Value Hardware store at Orton Avenue and Victoria Road.

Sears’ Jamie McCabe said the move from the cramped little space on First Street West was long overdue and will now allow him to bring in a much wider range of goods for local customers.

“People wanted to have more products and more choice,” he said during the outlet’s Grand Opening today.

“We’ll be bringing in beds, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water softeners, water heaters, freezers, more furniture — all kinds of things.”

Customers should not, however, expect to see things like clothing, toys or lighter consumer goods. But that doesn’t mean they can’t order them. The store will continue to offer Revelstokians its catalogue service, McCabe said.

Here are three pictures of the interior of the new Sears outlet location.
