Dam Survivors and friends

Nine members of the Dam Survivors, the Lake Revelstoke Dragon Boat Society's racing team, joined the Imperial Dragons, a team from Salmon Arm in this group photo of 110 breast cancer survivors who competed in a race on July 4. "The Imperial Dragons are a new team to Salmon Arm," said Ginger Shoji of the Dam Survivors. "This was their first festival and the members of our team were happy to take them into the thrill of competition. Manager Kris deVeer commented on the fact that when Dam Survivors Diane Andrews and Jennifer Wolney jumped into lead stroke position, the last race was a blast and they were on top of the world after that." The Dam Survivors' next race will be in Penticton on Sept. 12-13. Photo courtesy of Ginger Shoji.
