The Revelstoke Aquaducks swam to several impressive victories during their 2009 swim meet at the Aquatic Centre last weekend, with 10 of the children finishing in top rankings.

“The team has been swimming extremely well,” said Megan Pilla, one of the team’s two coaches. “We are very pleased to see their performances during this meet.”

And some of those performances were spectacular. Beth Granstrom and Alana Brittin dominated the Div. 1 Girls’ event taking the top two rankings with 54 and 49 points, respectively. Emily Pfeiffer swam to first place in the Div. 5 Girls with 54 points while Hanna Thomson took third place with 47 points. Jacob Wallach took fourth place in the Div 5 Boys with 42 points. Cynthia Pfeiffer came in third place in the Div. 6 Girls with 48 points. Wylie Harder took third place in the Div. 6 Boys with 46 points. Nadia Salon took first place in the Div. 8 Girls with 56 points while Rosemary Kelsall took third in the same Division with 48. And Cam Molder won third place in the adult Div. 8 category with 46 points.

The team swam against equally athletic teams from Salmon Arm, Merritt, Golden, Princeton, Lumby and other towns across the region. They still face swim meets in Salmon Arm and Merritt this summer, followed by the Regional Championships in Kamloops and the Provincials in Abbottsford, Pilla said.
