The Revelstoke Library’s popular summer programs will lead kids of all ages on a literary adventure this year using the theme, Follow The Reader.

The Read to Me Club is for children between the ages of three and five. They and their caregivers can enjoy stories, songs, creations and all-around fun on Fridays—July 3, 10, and 17 — from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. And on Friday, July 24, there will be a special picnic from 12 until 1 p.m.

Older readers between five and 12 have Summer Reading Club events on July 8, 15 and 22 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. and on Saturday, July 25, at 11 a.m. There will be contests, book draws and other fun prizes.

On Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. there will be a free, special event: entertainment by professional ventriloquist and magician Neale Bacon. You can sign up for this performance at the library.

Two other special events include a drumming presentation by Angela Roy on July 8 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Participants must register in advance for that event. And, on July 22, Revelstoke Remote Aircraft Club members will be at the library with some of their fantastic model flying machines, one of which will be this year’s grand prize.

The Summer Reading Club will wind up on Wednesday, July 29, with a party outdoors starting at 4 p.m. Details will be made public at a later date.
