Skateboard Association launches a 100x$1,000 fundraising drive. It’s goal? Build the skate park next summer

The Columbia Valley Skateboard Association (CVSA) is launching a 100x$1,000 campaign to raise $100,000 in donations to allow construction of the new skate park next summer.

Here’s how it works.

“We are asking individuals, businesses, organizations and other supporters to donate $1,000 (or more) to the park project,” the CVSA said in a statement. “Those who donate $1,000 or more will have their business, organization or individual name cast in a high-quality bronze plaque that will be placed at the completed skate park.”

Donations can be made to a special fund set up at Revelstoke City Hall and all donors of $1,000 or more will be issued a tax receipt. Donors of $5,000 or more will receive an elevated position on the plaque.

“Although we’ve raised many tens of thousands over the years, we’ve been waiting until we were near our goal to launch our big public-facing fundraiser,” CVSA Presideny Kartl Jost said in the statement. We’re there now. With a little help from the community, we’ll build it in 2017.”

The CVSA has so-far raised $498,000 in cash and grant commitments for the project so far.

The CVSA challenges all businesses and individuals to get creative with their fundraising ideas. For individuals and businesses, donating your time or products on a by-donation basis is a great way to raise funds.
